Help GoForth Recovery Create a Brighter Future for Women in Recovery.

As you read Beverly’s story on the below, you’ll see what’s possible when someone is given the support and opportunity to overcome addiction. Unfortunately, many women in our community never receive that chance.

In Spartanburg County, there are approximately six recovery beds available for men for every one available to a woman, and even fewer programs that provide the comprehensive support needed for lasting recovery.

For years, GoForth Recovery has helped individuals rebuild their lives through safe housing, recovery support, employment assistance, counseling, life skills training, and a supportive community. Now, we’re expanding that mission through the renovation of our new Women’s Recovery Home at 175 Alabama Street.

The good news? We’re already 75% of the way there.

Thanks to grants, loans, donor support, and generous in-kind contributions, more than $1.3 million has already been invested in this transformational project.

But we still need your help to cross the finish line.

Every gift, regardless of size, brings us one step closer to opening a home where women can find hope, healing, accountability, and a pathway to lasting recovery.

Together, we’re doing more than renovating a building. We’re creating a place where women can rebuild their lives, restore relationships, and begin a new chapter filled with purpose, stability, and opportunity.

Thank you for helping create a brighter future for women in recovery.

With Gratitude,
The GoForth Recovery Team

BEVERLY’S STORY.
A story of recovery, restoration & hope.

My name is Beverly Rojas. I was born on January 1, 1978. I am an American Indian from Cherokee, North Carolina. Life was rough for me growing up; my mother and father were both addicts and were in and out of prison most of my life. At 13, I started smoking marijuana, and by 18 I was going to bars and clubs as if I were a grown-up.

At 21, I got pregnant with my first daughter and stopped partying for a little while. I was introduced to cocaine, got pregnant again, stopped, had the baby, became addicted to cocaine, and got pregnant for the last time.

After the birth of my 3rd daughter, I moved to Spartanburg. This was in the year 2000. In 2001, I was introduced to methamphetamine, and that was the beginning of a 26-year meth addiction. In and out of jail, on and off the streets.

I was arrested for the last time on July 8, 2025. This lady came to interview me to see if I was a good candidate for GoForth and for Drug Court. I got accepted into both programs. On November 18, 2025, GoForth took me into custody.

“This is the best thing that has ever happened to me. A few weeks ago, I celebrated a whole year in recovery. I am now doing things I never did before: working, going to church, and doing adult things I’ve always wanted to do.”

To all those out there suffering as I did, you just have to give it to God, take it one day at a time, and want it for yourself. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. You will learn a lot in your recovery program; I know I did and still am.

Always grateful, Beverly

WHERE BEVERLY IS TODAY

Today, Beverly is actively involved in the lives of her daughters and grandchildren, rebuilding relationships that addiction once stole from her. She has become a respected leader at GoForth and has earned a management position at her workplace through hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

God has transformed a broken woman, burdened by childhood trauma and addicted for more than three decades, into a woman of purpose, faith, and hope. What began as a life marked by pain, incarceration, and addiction has become a story of redemption and restoration. Beverly has been given a second chance at motherhood, a renewed sense of self-worth, and the opportunity to help others find their way out of darkness.

Today, she serves as a guiding light and an inspiration to those still struggling, proving that recovery is possible, healing is real, and no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. Her story testifies to the power of faith, perseverance, and the life-changing impact of recovery.
