GoForth Recovery, a non-profit organization established in 2018, is a men’s addiction recovery program and residential transitional living home for alcoholics and drug addicts. Our residential program provides housing and a structured environment that allows alcoholics and addicts to recover from a hopeless and helpless state of mind & body. Our primary goal is to enable the resident to take responsibility for their recovery and build the foundation for them to be a productive member of their community.
We opened on May 1, 2018 with the idea of offering a structured residential program for men suffering from Alcohol and Drug Addiction. Our founders had battled addictions most of their lives until they made an honest attempt at recovery.
There were two central ideas for the house.
- The first was to create a structured environment for people to recover from a hopeless state of mind and body.
- The second was to offer those with nothing the same level of care given to someone who has the ability to pay for the best treatment. (healthcare, transportation, counseling & therapy, case management, job placement
In May of 2018 these ideas became a reality and OUR MISSION & VISION were established.
Our Mission: Empower Individuals on their path to recovery to: Be Honest. Be Responsible. Go Forth and Recover Together
Our Vision: To provide those with nothing the same level of care & services given to someone who has the ability to pay for the best treatment
At the core of our house is our recovery programs which consist of 8 hours per week of classes. These classes fall under two categories, 12 step meetings and life skills. The 12 step meetings lay the foundation for recovery. Life Skills classes cover the following topics: Values & Responsibilities, Interpersonal Skills, Refusal Skills, Making Decisions, Setting & Attaining Goals, Parenting & Child Development, Personal Guidance, Sexual Health, Looking for Work, Education & Learning, and Securing Housing.
While our focus in on recovery we also assist the residents with job placement, transportation, basic healthcare and outside counseling.
Once in recovery it is strongly encouraged that they become volunteer in the community to carry the message of hope to those still suffering. Our founders and our staff have all followed this path as well as the many volunteers we work with. In fact, this simple act of giving back is the best insurance from relapsing. As each person enters recovery the growth of our recovery community grows exponentially.
