GoForth Recovery, a non-profit organization established in 2018, provides a structured, gender-specific addiction recovery program and residential transitional living home for men and women facing substance use disorder (SUD), including alcohol and drug dependency. Our residential program fosters a safe and supportive environment where individuals can heal from addiction and rebuild their lives. Through accountability, structure, and community, we empower residents to take responsibility for their recovery and lay the groundwork for a fulfilling, productive future.

We opened on May 1, 2018 with the idea of offering a structured residential program for men suffering from Alcohol and Drug Addiction. Our founders had battled addictions most of their lives until they made an honest attempt at recovery.

There were two central ideas for the house.

• The first was to create a structured environment for people to recover from a hopeless state of mind and body.
• The second was to offer those with nothing the same level of care given to someone who has the ability to pay for the best treatment. (case management, counseling & therapy, access to healthcare & dental care, transportation, job placement, education classes & life skills)

In May of 2018 these ideas became a reality, and OUR MISSION & VISION were established.

In March 2025, GoForth Recovery merged with A Light Unto My Path Homes, a highly successful women’s addiction recovery program and residential transitional living home for women facing substance use disorder (SUD), including alcohol and drug dependency. A Light Unto My Path Homes now functions as the GoForth Recovery Women’s program. The merger of our nonprofit organizations provides GoForth Recovery gender specific programs, while enhancing the ability to better serve individuals seeking recovery, our communities, community partners and most of all Our Mission and Our Vision.

Our primary goal of the GoForth Recovery Program is to enable the residents to take responsibility for their recovery and build the foundation for them to successfully reintegrate and become a productive member of their community.   Our core belief and fundamental principle of GoForth Recovery is that Our Mission and Vision will be accomplished together, with our community and with our partners.

GoForth Recovery operates as a National Alliance of Recovery Residences (NARR) Level IV compliant Service Provider and is a Certified South Carolina Probation, Parole & Pardon (SCPPP) partner. These certifications reflect our commitment to providing a structured, high-quality recovery environment that meets national standards and supports individuals through every stage of their journey.
